Congratulations to Kris & Inge Johnsen, Johnsen Tree Farm on their purchase of Dragonfire Shaolin (Dancity Martial Art x Dragonfire Nova), a 2003 gelding who has spent the last two years distinguishing himself as a park, English pleasure and in hand competitor. He finished the 2007 season as the Reserve Grand National Champion Four Yr Old Gelding, and was also Reserve Jr. English Pleasure Champion at the Morgan Medallion Regional in Santa Barbara. We wish the Johnsens all the best with this outstanding performer, who will continue under the direction of Forest Nealon at Illahee. The 2007 Grand National was a tremendous success for the Dragonfire team! Heading up our winners with the World Champion Ladies Western Pleasure title, as well as Grand National Champion Ladies Western Pleasure Geldings, was Movado with Jennifer McFall up for Paul and Dannica Brisco of Milrose Morgans. Recently purchased from Sandra Nelson's Madison Avenue Morgans, Movado was joined in the winner's circle by his stablemate Grand Cru Beaujolais in the competitive Grand National Western Pleasure Gentlemen's Finals Championship with Earl McFall. Beau is the leading star for Madison Avenue and is leading a dual career as a breeding stallion and a show horse. Another Nelson entry, CHC Blue's Shining Star, was shining in the dressage division as she took home the Reserve World Champion Dressage Training Level High Point, Reserve Grand National Champion Dressage Training Level Test 4 Open, and the Reserve Grand National Champion Dressage Training Level Test 2 Open. Her outstanding performances caught the eye of Georgeann Ireland of Celebrity Morgans, who purchased Blue during the Grand National. Sandra Nelson's final entry, Briar Oaks Pep In My Step, was purchased by Mr. George Liberty after winning Reserve Grand National Champion titles in both the Western Pleasure Mares and Western Pleasure Amateur Masters Under 15.1h. Also bringing home the tricolors at the 2007 Grand National was Kathy Smith's RJH Reality as the Grand National Champion Hunter Pleasure Stallion/Gelding 15.1h & Over, Jenny McFall presenting, with an impressive UNANIMOUS vote of all three judges! Reality also nailed a Top Five in the World Champion Open Hunter Pleasure, no small feat. Barbara Fleming and Alias (Ultras Special Agent x SpringMill Cherrybomb), a mere four year old, had a wonderful first Grand National trip by taking home the Grand National Training Level Test 3 Amateur Championship! Barbara and Alias also pulled an impressive third place in the World Champion Dressage Training Level Amateur Awards. Congratulations, Barbara! Equinox Adelle found a new home with Avichouser Stables, under the ownership of Miss Sara Hyman. This personable Morgan mare was formerly owned by Katherine Smith of Six Mile Creek Farm, and has been a consistent winner in the Hunter Pleasure and Dressage divisions since her debut as a junior horse. We wish Sara and Adelle great success!
